A Note from Natasha

Our 9th year in existence has been very busy as we continue to evolve and grow.  While we provide different updates through our monthly newsletters, eblasts, social media pages, and during tours and onsite events, I thought it also may be worth emphasizing in my note that we are still in a definite growth phase at Pawsperity. While it may appear since we moved into our building over two years ago that everything is now status quo, that is far from the truth.

Last year, we had 36 graduates in our program. This year, we expect 55-60 and in 2026, we anticipate 70. As a reminder, including our post-graduation 18-month Bridge Program, students are with us for a minimum of two years. Our “all-in” approach, which includes case management, an onsite food pantry, housing, and more, is extensive.

We have restructured our curriculum from self-paced to cohorts moving through the program and testing together within a 7-month timeframe. We’ve seen tremendous results thus far. We have also started to include a way for students to rate their classes, case managers, and grooming instructors. I’m happy to report we currently have an exceptional student satisfaction average rating of 4.8 out of 5.

Additionally, with increasing students, we recognize we also need more dogs for them to groom. We are working on renovating some space for additional kenneling later this year to accommodate more dogs. In the meantime, we hope our new grade cards and morning drop off schedule help the pet parent experience.  Please know we are focusing on our customer service and understand without our dedicated pet parent clients, it would not be possible to have a grooming school.

We also are now able to accommodate larger company, church, and community groups for team building and volunteer activities to coincide with other ways groups can support our school. This program is growing with many different opportunities available. If interested, I’d encourage you to reach out to our new Community Partnership Manager, Amy, for more information at [email protected].

As always, thank you for supporting our mission as we continue to grow. Together, we can make a real difference.
