A Note from Natasha

As part of our 10-year anniversary celebration this year, we are putting together a very special edition of our annual magazine, Grooming | Love and Hope, which will be released at our Gala. I was able to be part of the cover shoot this week and to connect with all of the graduates who will be featured in this issue. In celebration of a decade’s worth of impact, we are highlighting ten graduate stories—all different, but all women with a similar thread of strength and determination.

If you have never talked to or heard one of our graduates speak at an event, you may not realize how inspiring they truly are, and why we are all continually impressed. Our program is not easy to begin with, but when you factor in what many of our students are going through, or have gone through in their lives, it is amazing. While not any one individual or story is identical, we unfortunately, see many trends—homelessness, addiction, prior incarceration, and domestic violence.

This year you will hear from those who have decided to become business owners, whether in their home or a brick and mortar, they have taken the leap to that next level. Others are so appreciative of the flexibility of their schedules because they have young children. This piece is critical, and intentional about why I chose dog grooming as a trade for our school. Two have come back to contribute to other students day in and day out and share how they are able to do that, while you can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into why our program is truly so all-encompassing.

If you haven’t read one of our magazines before and would like a hard copy, please email Erin at [email protected] with your address and she will be sure you get one. You can also check out last year’s issue digitally here. Otherwise, you will have to wait until this fall to learn more about the lives of ten incredible women and how they exemplify why Pawsperity’s mission is so empowering. We hope you can celebrate with us and some of these lovely ladies, at our anniversary Gala when this year’s magazine is revealed. For more information regarding our event, click here.

Until next month, enjoy the beginning of your summer!
