A Note from Natasha
I have blinked and suddenly it is mid-summer, which is hard to believe. I know this can be one of the busiest times of year for families—with vacations and lots of summer activities being squeezed in before “back to school” arrives.
For us, Pawsperity’s school is year-round. But as supporters are extra busy during this time of year, understandably, I would ask for you to take a quick minute to think about how you can still help. Whether you have volunteered, brought your dog to us, donated in the past, or never done any of those things but love our mission, there are many ways to support Pawsperity mid-year. With many uncertainties in the fundraising landscape and government funding, we would be very appreciative of the support.
If you happen to be employed, consider connecting with your HR or Community Impact Team to see if there is volunteering available for your department or team. If so, we have great opportunities during the week, typically in two-hour increments. We also love to take the time to tour through our school so the whole group knows how they are helping and understands our mission. We also are communicating with companies now about holiday projects and ways companies can support us later in the year. As a reminder, our program is tuition-free, even though the cost to Pawsperity averages $50,000 per student. Want a way to give each month where you don’t even have to think about it? Consider our Paw Member Program. For less than a $1 a day, three different levels exist and the amount you agree upon, between $19-$50+, is automatically taken out each month to support our ongoing mission. Remember as a school, our grooming services are typically half of a regular salon. Book your dog today, or help spread the word. With oversight from our amazing instructors, each groom helps students as they are learning the trade of professional dog grooming.
